Definitely worth buying over the base model. The improved motor and bells and whistles make the juicing experience more enjoyable.

can you put frozen items in it

can you put frozen fruit or vegetables in it to make smoothies?
Leave those for the blender. Stick with the fresh fruits and veggies for the juicers.

Peels/skins & Pulp

Do fruits & veggies, for example oranges & bananas, need to be peeled prior to juicing? If not, is peel juiced or merely trapped in straining mesh?
How much of high fiber fruits & veggies "juiced" is wasted, ie, trapped in straining mesh?
First of all, don't juice bananas. They gum up everything. Leave those for your blender when you make smoothies.

Take the skins off of citrus. It's too much work for the motor. When you buy the $$$$ model you can dump everything in. The fibrous parts of fruits and vegetables are separated out.
