I like to walk and exercise to music, only I haven't learned how to use an mp3 player, so this does the trick. Having the fm radio is good too! Very simple to use as well. You have to be careful if you hold it while walking so that you don't pause or fast forward, etc.
I would recommend this to a friend!

how do I download a free pdf of user manual?

A brief user info booklet comes with the cd player. The print is hard to read and i did have to use my friends reading glasses, but it's easy to figure out. I made a mistake or two but that's ok.

does this item have a built speaker I do not have to use earphones do it?

No this model does not have a built in speaker but it comes with some nifty earbuds that plug into the cd player.
