where should i put the device next to my router or the opposite side of the house

I would put it in between your router and the weak area. That way it receives a decent signal and boosts it out again in a weaker area of your home.

Is it just to make wifi faster if you have multiple devices or can someone with no internet use it

I wont have internet for a month and i want something that will give me access to internet. I have a laptop and thats all i will use to connect but im not sure if it connects to just anything or if it only connects if youre paying for internet. hope this made sense
You need Internet for this to work. What it does is takes a weaker signal from your router and boosts it out strong again in those weak areas of your home.
