purchased this vac for my son's apartment, and tried it out before I gave it to him. I have a dyson myself, so a bit spoiled. Suction was great; too much sometimes; even on the high setting, it still sucked up throw rugs. However, Picked up dirt that my dyson didn't. Things I didn't like (again, compared to a dyson) - have to bend over to change the height adjustment floor to carpet, etc. The bagless canister around the cyclone is smaller than my dyson and narrower, so the dog hair, etc didn't fall out as easily (had to reach in and fish it out) . need to empty after nearly each vac time. Filter at the top of the canister seemed to get dirty quickly - I only used it 2-3 times and it was dirty. However, for the price difference, you can't go wrong with this vac; esp for a smaller/less used space. I wouldn't want it for my daily vac for the house (w/ kids, dogs, etc), but definately for an apartment or maybe upstairs.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We've only had it about a month, but so far it works great. Inside is kind of a slippery surface, so it cleans easily. Some of the pre-set times seem a bit off - 4.5 min for a potatoe? not even close. Takes 7-8 min.
Good size. The outside dimensions were only slightly larger than our old 0.9 cf one, but the inside is larger; glad we made the jump to the larger unit. Did trip the circuit breaker once when we had the micro and toaster oven on at the same time (same outlet). Didn't have that issue with our old/smaller micro (less wattage). Didn't think about that when we upsized. Moved the toaster over to another outlet and it seems okay now.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can you use the timer and cook at the same time?

I don't believe so. The timer is only for cooking.

Is the turntable removable?

yes, turntable and the gizmo under it that rotates the turntable are both removable

Clock Display

When the display turns off to save energy, after 5 minutes without any activity, does the clock display remain on?
no; there is no 'clock' per say. Just a timer that you use to cook
