I had purchased a similar Frigidaire window unit 2 years ago to keep us cool and sane when our central AC was replaced. We kept it in our garage once the system was fixed- but it would have been a miserable 5 days without it. Lo and behold, our nearly- new system croaked it thankfully under warranty) so we dragged the original window unit to the bedroom and I ran to buy this current one for our living room, This time, we were without central AC for 3+ weeks..so the new unit, in tandem with the original, made our home safe and happy (even though we could really only be comfortable in the rooms with window units.) These models are both Energy Star products and our power bill reflected the energy savings. Thanks, Best Buy! .

What's great about it: Great value, well-made, more attractive than most microwaves and works well
What's not so great: Ok, so I give it 4.99 stars, not 5. The " it's done" reminder goes off every minute or so until you take the item out
I'd definitely recommend this microwave to anyone either replacing a dead microwave ( ours croaked ) or in need of a bigger, higher capacity and higher cook speed model. Warning- this baby is NOT a dorm -size model; it's more like the size of a cruise ship but we love it. Couldn't have chosen a better model to replace the one we had.
This product is or has... Shortcut keys that save time, Sensor cooking that works well, A turntable that cooks evenly, The power to cook quickly, Easy to use controls, Big enough to handle large items, Easy to clean

How loud is the unit?
I think it has a nice gentle hummmmm which will lull you to sleep. Sitting right next to it, though- it is pretty loud
