Good basic drive for data storage and backup. The USB 3 is fast enough. Although as mac user I prefer using the older Firewire and newer Thunderbolt. If you're a windows users you'll probably be happy enough.
Btw, I've owned and used several WD drives and so far so good. All have been reliable.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Hello, I can't seem to see what is the difference b/n WD My Book and WD My Passport Ultra? My book 4TB is cheaper than My Passport 3TB? Can somebody help me? Thanks in advance!

The WD My Book is for desktop use. You need AC power. That is, you need to plug it into a wall outlet for power.

The My Passport is a a portable that draws power from your computer. It's made to be small and portable.

Choose the one that suits your needs best.

I never use portable hard drives for long term storage. Too many chances for accidents and loss.
