can I replace a 1tb hd. with this 3th hd

I want to know if I can replace a 1tb hard drive with this 3tb hard drive.
You can replace 1 tb with this although at time I transfered I partitioned drive 2 tb for media and games and 1tb for OS and tools. Just what I decided to do worked well.
