This was the first in the series where I really tried to co op with my sister. From Software is pretty infamous for having wonky co op. There are threads all over the internet on how to do it. It's just so weird. Adding passwords, restricting summon signs, hard reseting, taking off all your equips. It's rediculous. Besides that, the game is fluid. The mechanics are still great. The visuals are beautiful. The story is a lot more straight foward, but there is still a lot of stuff you can miss. All in all its a solid title. Just wish you could drop in drop out like other games.

Final Fantasy Explorers - Nintendo 3DS
Final Fantasy Explorers - Nintendo 3DS
The world is at war over the reserves of crystals, and only a band of intrepid explorers can rise to save the day. In Final Fantasy Explorers, you'll team up with three other players in solo or cooperative gameplay to dive into dungeons to collect crystals while taking on classic Final Fantasy enemies at the same time. Customize your characters with jobs, weapons, armors, accessories and abilities, and recruit and level up monsters, so they can fight alongside you in battle. Transform into popular franchise characters, such as Cloud, Squall and Lightning. With more than 200 quests on which to embark, the journey is just beginning — are you ready?

If you have played monster hunter you can jump right onto this game. For people that havent tried or played mh this game teaches newcomers all the basic material they need to be a great explorer. If you are ever stuck, I really reccomend talking to the npc near the gate entrance. Hes the first npc you talk to. He has all sorts of useful information.
Dont play this game for the story. They have one but its nothing to talk about.
Co op. Online co op works great. My only complaint is that you have to edit chat boxes before you go online. While online you can chose from the premade messages you made. You cant have a realtime random conversation. Nintendo really hates people communicating in real time.
Couch co op works really great. If you have a friend or a husband or wife gf/bf this game turns into a murder party. Its so easy.
This game is pretty easy but once you beat the story, hard missions get unlocked. This is where it can get challenging. Luckily you can upgrade any piece of equipment you own.
Crafting is simple and upgrades define what they do.
Classes are unique and there are plenty of classes. Each class has their own skills that you unlock. Skills can be upgraded in a wide amount of variations. Want a bigger cure circle? Use a giant mutation and now you can upgrade your cure to have a bigger area of affect. Thats just an example
Also if you like collecting pets this game allows you to catch any monster in the game excluding bosses.
All in all this is a great installment for it being the first in the series. I can only imagine how awesome this would be if they make another one. Fixing the online chat would be a vast improvent.
Cons: lag if to much stuff is on the screen. Wish there were more areas.
This game is just plain fun 9/10

Its very tiny and fits any just about anywhere. Its bluetooth so it wont take up any usb spots, so thats a plus. The only downside is that it goes into sleep mode within ten minutes and the on/off switch is on the backside. Other than that its an okay product.
