The unit is simple to install but does require access to a 110/115 VAC outlet for power. It also requires experimenting with the orientation and position to optimize the signal improvement.

We didn't wish to buy a pair of $100.00 toothbrushes when we upgraded, these were on sale for about half of list so it got both of us new toothbrushes for under a hundred. They work well and the charger doesn't take up too much acreage on the counter.

How high do we need to mount antenna?

We have weak reception even with the amplifier we only get 5-6 channels. Any ideas on what to do? We are within 50 miles from 3 major cities so we should be getting good signal. We were told to point it north at 30 degrees, is this correct?
Experiment with the orientation and position as well as the proximity to the amplifier while tuned to a representative station that is coming in weak enough that you can tell a difference in signal quality. After you optimize the orientation play with the gain to fine tune the signal. None of the FM signal amplifiers are magic, all they do is bump up the existing signal strength a given db level.
