Logitech removed quite a bit of functionality to make this mouse. For me, it is the Cruise function that was removed. Without that function this is useless. Looking online there are quite a few functions that were available in previous Logitech mice that are gone. Hey, Logitech we don't need the functionality to focus left or focus right, but we do need things like Cruise.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works great, good ergonomics and dependable.sometimes you have to pop the ball out and clean the three contact points, but definitely a great product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The system requirements says OSX 10.12 required. Why would that be? Can the basic functions work with older versions that support bluetooth mice?
The mouse has the ability to replicate keystrokes from your keyboard. Without OS 10.12 you cannot do this. Also, Logitech has removed many of the common customization functions so linking it to keystrokes might be the only way to get the mouse to do what you want.
