My son uses them excessively, good overall quality and holding up just fine. He says he likes them especially because sound is great plus he can hear everything going on in the house. Con: ear comfort is not the best.
I bought the 2-year warranty.. just incase.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I use these in mass quantity at work and they are durable, reliable and fast. I love these things! These are not cheap junky or clunky.. they are made well and to last. Easy way to back up your data and def a great price.

They hold up to constant use by my 11 year old..We've had cheaper ones that short out within a month! These are very reasonable, especially for the price. Id recommend them.

You're only as good as your tools. This kit is perfect for the little things like eyeglasses but especially great if you are a techie and take apart electronics/laptops. The price is right, they are easy to grip and I like the case too.

What's great about it: quick setup
What's not so great: -
It was on sale for 139.99 which I thought was a steal and perfect timing for finishing off my son's remodeled room. Got it to accompany his PS3. Much better than the old RCA 32" counsel TV on so many levels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Can the WD be used to back up a system image file, for total disk restore?

I am intending to use this external drive not only to backup data and transfer to a different PC, but also to create a system image (probably in different partitions), including OS (registry), apps/programs, data, pictures, etc. The WD earlier answer for transferring files stated that their backup was only for data.
Yes for my business this is what I use one of them for. Absolutely, yes.

can this be used as a storage directly from security cameras?

Sure I don't see why not as long as your security system is hooked up thru your computer to tell it where to store the recordings.

Is it compatible with Windows XP?
Yes, the project I am on is backing up XP machines, upgrading them to Win7 then restoring the data. These drives are PERFECT.
