When we plugged this hard drive into our new iMac, nothing happened. After several attempts to install special software to let the iMac see this Seagate drive we still had no luck. There are lots of reviews out there that other users were having the same trouble.
Rather than fight the drive for any more hours we just returned it to the store.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Will this drive work with the new OS Sierra?

Based on our experience, i would say this won't work with Mac OS systems.
