What's great about it: simple
Just like the summary says. Install the disk (I did on Windows 7 without issue) and then plug it in.
Not the fastest thing in the world, but what can you expect via USB?
Nice little adapter to have in the toolkit to help diagnose connection issues, or to provide a direct connection to router.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does it work for USB 0f Ultra-Book PC with Windows-8 to Ethernet?

You need a CD/DVDROM to load the drivers. Windows8 may (I say may) be able to automatically load drivers if you are connected to wireless if you do not have a cdrom to load the drivers.

Is this suitable to hook a USB printer to a wired network?

Need to share a printer between many computers without needing to leave a specific on running.
Your USB connection on the printer is going to be different. You might look at your router and see if there is a usb connection on it for printer or device sharing. Something like the recommended products will give you usb printer sharing from the router.

Enjoy!
