I ordered online, and one of the two DVD players did not. I returned to the store and got a new one. Haven't had any issues, and it works great. Went on a 2500 mile road trip with three kids (ages 5, 3, and 7 months) and it was great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I know the children can watch the same movie on both screens but can they each watch a different movie? In other words, is there only one major screen or two?

Yes, you can use it as two separate DVD systems.
