This Chromebook has a standard SIM card slot, right?

Also, if I purchased it off-contract would I be able choose any provider for the LTE service?

Yes, I think so.
The day I bought it (September 2014) it was compatible with Verizon and AT&T. Here's the link to the specs:

can you reccomend a printer that is compatible with the chromebook?

I am thinking of buying the chromebook if I can get a printer that will work with it that won't cost a fortune! any suggestions? also does this chromebook accommodate a disk -say for viewing photos that are on a disk

any wifi printer will work.
No, it doesn't have a disk drive. You can use a thumb drive, which is more practical on the go anyway

Does this laptop have a CD/DVD drive?

I'm been seeing lots of laptops with out the driver, I like to play the sims and or listen to CDs or watch a DVD on the computer. Main question is is there one cause I didn't see it in the photos.

Do I have to activate the 4G?

I can use this as a wifi only computer, right? If I do that will the price change?

I've been using it wifi only for the last month- my first experience using wifi. It works fine, although some places their log-in is kind of confusing, and I need to refresh after logging into the wifi. Overall, it's been a very good practical solution to type up and send documents while away from my desktop. I discovered you use most Starbucks wifi's with no login in as long as you're within 500 feet, i.e. across the street or parked in the parking lot :)

Recently, Verizon gave a $99 credit toward this model is you signed up for hotspot service. So far, I don't feel the need because I live in a densely wifi rich urban area

Does it have 3.5mm jack?

Looking to buy a mic for my podcast im starting but most mics require a 3.5mm

Yeh, I want to get a microphone too so I can use the new Google dictation app. The Laptop Magazine review says it does have a 3.5mm jack.

can i use a mouse attachmetn with the key board

Store told me yes. After using it for a month, I could definitely use a mouse. No way to right click or highlight stuff without it.

can it be used with bright house internet

It's not super bright and clear like the Ipad retina display, but I haven't had any problems. It opens wide, allowing many viewing angles. The 4G works great. I opted not to go with the Ipad Air retina display, because its heavier than this Chromebook, it runs a lot hotter, and I did not want to risk an expensive tablet getting damaged, lost or stolen.

does it have window vista?

It's a Chromebook, which means it comes with Google Chrome pre-loaded so you can access the internet with either wifi or your own hotspot. It's meant to help you access cloud-based programs like Google Drive. I run my whole business on Google apps which are cloud-based. Never paid a dime, and they're pretty reliable. Down only a couple of times in 6 years...
