What's not so great: nothing of note
Purchased this memory card for a Nook. It installed easily and performs fabulously.

What's great about it: size of a smart phone (fits in my pocket) & USB 3
What's not so great: more of a wish (wish it were a SSD
Unfortunately, SSD drives are still a bit pricey, so this drive is a great alternative. With USB 3 it's the fastest transfer rate you'll get. Actually bought 3 of these as we needed to transfer LOTS of data.

What's great about it: Price vs. capacity
What's not so great: "closed" it will still allow lint into USB connection
Really like the slide cover design; however I still wouldn't recommend having it your pocket day after day as lint will still get stuck in it. Very appropriate to have around your neck

I have transferred my pictures, how does new pictures taken get added to my external drive
After my files have transferred to the Slim Portable drive, how do new files and pictures get transferred?
ALWAYS keep your photos on multiple backup devices as well as in the cloud via a service such as Carbonite.com. So I recommend downloading the photos to your computer first, then copying them over to the external drive as either a backup or a portable photo album. If you have 3 devices with ALL your photos and they are stolen or destroyed in a fire, your photos are GONE. Keep them in multiple locations.

How can I tell if the hard drive comes with its own power supply?
I want to use it with Dish satellite Tailgater
This drive is powered via the USB, so the important question is the device to which you'll connect it. Does it provide power through the USB? Older devices may not. Also, if the Dish Tailgater isn't USB 3, then you are wasting money. Google the model of the device you have to find a user guide or question Dish Support.
