This unit was easily installed, is quiet and effectively cools my office space (approx. 150 square feet). Previously I had to run the AC for the entire zone (approx 2500 square feet). I had casement windows so needed to install through the wall rather than the window. It was easily done much like a dryer vent. I'm sitting here today cool and comfortable thanks to this unit.

Will the unit still work if it you have to lay it on its side during transit to your home?
It will, but like any other refrigeration unit, it should be returned to the upright position for several hours prior to turning it on. This allows the oil in the compressor to return to its proper location.

can this unit be vented via a casement window?
I tried and failed. If you are really handy you could fashion a custom baffle but I chose to install the exhaust vent through the wall like a dryer install. You need to exhaust heat from the compressor and prevent warm outside air from entering the room. Hope this helps.
