While the detachable reversible screen is very handy and works well to transform the full laptop to just a tablet, the battery life in the separated unit is poor. However, if you keep it attached, the main battery combined with the lesser one in the screen unit lasts a good while.
I do find that the touch screen is often unreliable when trying to shut an open window even if trying to do it with the pen that comes with the Surface.
I have had several iPads and think the touch screen functions much more reliably but the available memory is pathetic if you want to load anything large like lots of RAW photos, which is why I went to the Surface for traveling with my camera.

I've been using this particular case for a while and was glad to see BB was still stocking it since so many of them are hard now. I love the card pocked in the front part of the pouch. Very handy since I am usually putting a note or a card or two in with my phone. I like that it does NOT have the big plastic clip like so many. Very comfortable to carry.

I've had 4 iPads since they were introduced and used them to download photos I take to review while on wildlife trips. The frustration has always been that there is never enough memory and I have to delete photos in order to add more. It's been a serious problem and there were not even any portable hard drives available for the first several years that could be used with the iPad. So now I am getting ready for a trip to Africa and leaving the iPad home and taking the Surface Pro 4 which has enough memory (4x more) than the largest iPad now available. Too bad a supposedly top tier innovator like Apple couldn't find a way to put enough memory into their product to keep me from having to finally ditch the iPad.

What is the size of phone that fits in this case. I have a phone that measures 6" x 3" would it fit in this case???
Probably will work. I've had the Galaxy phones and just bought a 7 and it fits nicely even with the back cover on. It's a little shy of 6 x 3 but the case will stretch a bit.

What is range of the wifi with this modem, can I go on the patio with it?
Shouldn't be a problem. We have it installed in a large home quite a distance from the computer, which is also on a different level. Works fine.
