How to connect Wireless Internet?

When I tried to connect my TV with existing Wifi network, it could not detect the network. I tried to follow the process of Hidden Network, still it did not work. I am using Netgear WGR614V10 Router and carrier is Charter. Please let me know whether this router is compatible.
Yes I have the same tv and router just make sure the
TV is close enough to the router . It did take a few attempts to get it connected. It took about 10 min to get it to connect .
