what does this product do?

can i use this to connect it to my tv and use the other female end of this product as a reciever to my headphones? so basically what i am saying is, would this act as an adaptor so i could use my headphones on my tv? my tv has no headphone jack.

what size is the female end of Y it does not seem to fit my head TV phones

It's your basic RCA adapter, check your headphone end, that should take a different connector like a 3.5mm female jack. I've seen lots of headphones but never one that has RCA inputs.
