I originally bought the Harmony Smart Control to enhance my Smartthings home automation setup. I liked it so much that not only do I recommend it to friends, but I buy and install them for my friends as gifts. Whenever I see someone's TV area littered with multiple remotes, I suggest the Harmony. I find setup very easy and the range of device support is phenomenal. Being able to control everything from my phone is really handy. But I think the best way to use the harmony is to install the app on a tablet. The remote interface on the tablet (iPad) is terrific. Everything is right there. And if you have home automation stuff set up (including Echo and Google Home) you can control things with your voice!

We started a home automation project a while back and one of the first things we put in were GE smart switches. We live in an older home, so changing just some of the old switches to smart switches with paddle controls would have looked weird, especially in a 2 gang box with one conventional and one smart switch. But with these, they don't look bad next to a conventional switch.
They function really well both manually and via whatever smart app you have controlling them.
I actually like that you can hear the relay inside switch on and off, especially for lights that are out of view from the switch. (Porch lights, for example.)
The only ding I would give them is that they can become "locked up" so that your app can no longer communicate with the switch at all. This has only happened once in 2 years and only with one out of half a dozen switches. But to fix it, I had to reset the circuit breaker in the breaker box.
They function really well both manually and via whatever smart app you have controlling them.

When installing, remember that these are BIG switches. In fact, if you (like I did) have any shallow switch boxes, they will not be deep enough to put one of these in. I was lucky in that I was able to replace the shallow box with a deep box. The switch will fit in a standard depth box, but if you can use a deep box, the extra room for wiring is really nice.

I bought this as a gift for my wife. We have only cooked with it a couple of times. However, I am impressed with the ability to attach to almost any container as well as the speed with which it gets up to temperature.
It's easy to clean (you're only heating water).
The cord seems a little short, but not enough for me to ding them for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will this remote operate the Amazon Fire stick?
Yes it will. One of my favorite features (even though I rarely use it) is that you can operate all of your home entertainment gadgets and not even have to be in the same room. But you get full control of the FireStick from either the iOS/Android APP or the included remote control.
