For the price I thought it was a great deal, but then the curser wouldn't follow my finger on the touch pad and it would get stuck in place and shudder.

Do you need special ink for photos, if so which one? This is for HP Envy 4500 printer.
No. You do not need special ink. Just use the HP 61 cartridge. Very affordable and works great. I also use Kodak photo paper (instant dry)for my photos.
