I was a bit disappointed. USB 3.1, 128GB, claims 150MB/s on the box. Well, it's at most 25MB/s write, and closer to 55-60 read, even on huge files with cache enabled. My cheapo PNY discount thumb drives are faster, and they're 2 years old.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

These are great for the price, but storage limited. Battery life is good, the little included celerons work well for web browsing and simple applications, and the eMMC storage is faster than a HD, but still lags a proper SSD. There's no real way to upgrade them, so know that you're buying a basic windows 10 device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

These are barebones windows home machines, but have NO MOVING PARTS.. Not even fans. That makes them almost bulletproof for web browsing, doc editing, etc. We use them for medical carts, as the battery life is great and there are no fans to get clogged with dust, and no spinning drives. Even with the only 32gb eMMC drives, it leaves enough to get basic work done.

Exactly what you'd expect: entry level SSD, no extras, plastic case (I don't care what it looks like). I buy these by the dozen for work, and have only had an issue with 1 of them ever, and they RMA'd it right away. I've also used the 240's, 480's, and 960s without issues.
Interestingly, I can find these at my local BB for $44.99, cheaper than amazon or anywhere else..

Screen, touchpad, and keyboard are all great for a bargain basement laptop. Processor is REALLY slow, but video is handled by graphics part of CPU so no real slowdown for video use. If they make any intel cpu'd version of that, I'd hold out for that one, even if it were $20 more.

Re: Lenovo - Ideapad 110s; Model: 80WG0001US How do I order this without an O/S and ready to add openSUSE? Will it boot off an installation USB? What will I need to do to the UEFI software to install openSUSE?
Just buy with the windows on there, and wipe/reinstall wtih openSUSE. They will happily boot from a uefi usb disk (I buy them and reimage them with our corporate image all the time).

Can I used this product with a Mac and a Windows computer at the same time?
Yes, but it depends on the file system. If you want to use it with both a Mac and Windows, you would need to format it with exFAT. If this is outside of your scope of comfortability, this may not be the drive for you.

Choppy Video Streaming Problems
This computer is dreadfully slow, especially for streaming video, e.g. Netflix, Youtube, Tumblr, etc. It has to be in the lowest resolution possible, and even then, the frames are constantly jumping and freezing. But, is the puny 1GHZ processor to blame, or is it the graphics card? Enlighten me as to which one is the cause so I can upgrade accordingly. Thanks!
Install AMD's video drivers, and use either the latest Internet explorer (hardware video acceleration) or Google chrome (my favorite). Some flash video will not be hardware accelerated, but if you use windows apps for netflix, hulu, and the like, and you have the REAL amd drivers installed, it should do full 1080p decode without breaking a sweat.
