This is a great small UPS. This one was purchased to support the network devices for a friend's home, keeping the cable modem, router, switch and WAPs running during power hiccups. Works like a champ. Was able to be attached to the wall to keep it out of the way.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The drive you have selected has roughly the same specs as the standard drive for a 2009 15" MacBook Pro. It should fit okay.

Will this work well in a USB 2.0 port? I would think it would need power with a USB 2.0 port.

It should work okay. It will only be as fast as USB 2.0 allows. It does not require power on the USB port since it is powered by an AC power adapter.

Is this HD compatible with Mac Lion OS X 10.7. ---Do I need to reformat it for mac or is ready to drop and save?

It is readable on the Mac as is and it says it has an NTFS driver to allow the Mac to write to it. If you want native compatibility with your Mac, you will need to reformat it to the Mac OS X format with your Mac.

Is this compatible with windows 7

Yes. I used one like it with my Windows 7 desktop for a while before I had to move to a bigger one. It should be fine and is very quick if you have USB 3.0.
