I compared this Toshiba model along with LG and Samsung and this one won hands down! Toshiba did not skimp on the features. A lot of models in this price range did not have the digital audio option in order to connect a sound bar. The sound is great as well, a sound bar isn't a necessity with this model. Definitely worth the money!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Does anyone know what the TV code is for a universal remote? I have a Vizio universal remote (VUR9M) and attempted all the codes, but was unable to link the TV. Any ideas or remotes I should explore?

I paired mine fine using my universal remote that's offered through cable company.

I this device wireless?

No it's not wireless. This is a standalone modem. You can either purchase router or buy combination for about 90 bucks

Will this work with Dish internet (not TV, just internet service)?

Yes it will. I have satellite and Internet service is DSL, this modem works perfectly
