What's great about it: Quietly does its job
What's not so great: I always wish it to be lighter and cheaper...
This little think just quietly does its job until you hear a sharp sounds telling you that it just saved you from losing the report you spent all day writing.

What's great about it: Works well with Mac but can also be used by PC, copied my "old" time capsule's settings
What's not so great: I had no idea it could configure itself from my old time capsule.
I have a large, multi-computer, house that needs to provide WIFI for a bunch of laptops and phones and gaming systems. This router does two things for me, I bridge to the "main" router and I to backups for all of my Mac equipment. I overlooked the option to configure this new time capsule from my old time capsule, but once I sorted that out, it worked great and was an easy transition. My devices connect and work without knowing anything is different. I now have Gigabit ethernet connections and 802.11ac wireless and a larger backup disk.

Yes, for your purposes electricity is electricity, you can plug in a Mac, PC or a lava lamp, it doesn't matter to the UPS.

I am using 55 watts. How long will it last?
Yes, these devices are about electricity ... so you can plug a Mac into one of these.

Do you have Toshiba SKU 4668013? I thought it would back up my entire system. Is something comparable?

You're question is about "backup" but you posted your question about a UPS... so its a little confusing. The unit you posted about has a 600 volt-amp capacity and should generally protect a desktop for long enough to shutdown safely in the event of a power outage.

If you actually need to ask about data backups, that's a totally different device.

Protecting a Desktop PC

I am confused by the answer to a prior question which I copied below. I need to surge protect a desktop PC plus external drives, router etc., but also if there is a power outage I need enough battery backup to allow me to save files on my desktop PC and/or external drive and then close everything down. Will it do that ok? Isn't that what its for?

Because it is intended to protect networking equipment (ie modem, router, etc. vs a PC), we do not include a cable to connect to a PC or the software to monitor from a PC"
I think they are saying that it was designed for small, low power equipment and they are not promising it to run long enough for lager equipment. That said, if you move promptly to save files and logout/shutdown you shouldn't need more than a few minutes. I have a small unit that protects a laptop (internal battery) and a monitor. It definitely runs long enough for what you describe...now if you are not home when the power fails, that's what PowerCute was all about.

What AC/DC adapter for a Lenovo laptop do I purchase?

The numbers on the adapter do not match any on the web sight. The numbers I show are 145000537 or PA-1400-12 or P/N36001653. My puppy ate mine and I need to replace it. Thank you
The only thing you really car about is the wattage .... older equipment/larger equipment use a 90w power supply and some things like the MBA use a smaller 65W power supply. The iPhone and iPad use different chargers.
