I love the Receiver however, When I crank up the volume to 1/3 or above, it overheats and shuts down in protection of itself. It is well ventilated and open in my installation. I will try some fans. I still think HEAVIER (physical weight) is better when it comes to Receivers, I thought that might not be so with new coils and power technologies since my last mid 1995s SONY.

How Does this router work with Comcast?
KNOW your connections. Cable TV providers generally use the round connectors, Ethernet is a more square plastic connector like an oversized phone cord. Your cable provider modem may have both styles to feed your router. If the cable provider modem only has a round connector this won't connect to your 7000 as is only receives an ethernet (square type) connector in the WAN port. Ofter your cable provider can or will give you an updated modem with both style jacks if you ask.

I do not see on my router where it is labeled energy star. It says it on your best buy website, but nowhere on the unit or paperwork inside of box.
Im wondering why your looking for and energy star wireless device. By MFR process, most newer processors power down as need anyway. If your are thinking more bandwidth means more energy, first change your thinking to more gigahertz means more bits per second = more potential bandwidth per second. Then ask yourself if leaving on one 100 watt lightbulb 24x7x365 is gonna eat up your checkbook. I bet you'll be ok!

Will the Netgear Nighthawk work with Apple Express? I have 2 Apple Express units that I'm using as range extenders in my house.
I would not recommend this with apple express, keep apples with apples and benefit within the system of apple, however I can surf off the 7000 from my deer stand >300' from my house and not skip a click. (apple and android).
APPLES to APPLES and, AC standard to AC standard. If you have a USB port buy an AC adapter. I've used cheap'os and best I could get and had good connections above the N bandwidths.
