Can I back up two different Macs, both using Time Machine, onto this one hard drive?

I'm sure you can. If on the second mac doesn't give you a backup option from time machine or if you don't notice anything automatically backingup in the external hardware, then no. It may backup partially also (bc of full memory). So I would double check what all it was able to backup on the second one.

Is this the kit version, or the drive only version

Does this include SATA cable, or install disc with DiscWizard?
All you do is connect it to your computer (comes with a chord) . It will show up on your screen and you'll be given options to back it up to your laptop (save absoltuley everything on your comp) or just drag and drop what you choose.
