What's great about it: Small footprint and ease of setup.
What's not so great: Seems to be a bit slow when compared to other Roku products.
This is a good product by Roku at a decent price. In my opinion the only shortcoming is the apparent slow response probably due to a cheaper, slower processor.
I would recommend this to a friend!

A waste of money. Bad design and workmanship.

memory upgrade

I have a asus cg5275 desktop computer with 8 gigs of memory. What type of memory would I need to upgrade to 16 gigs?
I suggest you visit crucial.com and download the software from their site that will evaluate your computer and tell you exactly what you need to buy.

Worked great then stopped.

Was working fine for a few days, then I pressed reboot command from the main menu. After 15 minutes drive still could not be found on network. Now I cannot find drive anywhere and I power cycle but drive is gone from network. What to do?
I suggest you return it to BB for warranty repair or replacement. This happened to me once and I think it was due to a power outage here. I had to disconnect it from the AC and reconnect it again. It started working and I was able to find it with both my PC and Mac.

Uploading DVD collection

My main purpose for this unit would be to upload my DVD collection and music files. I want the ability to access these files over the internet from my electronic device (phone, laptop). Is this possible?
Yes, it is doable. I have done it provided the internet connection is fast. This is needed for movies and videos.

Can this device be used by both Mac and PC together?

I know the description says that this device is both Mac and PC compatable but can it be used by both together? Are seperate partitions needed? What is the file system used?
The system can be used with Mac and PC at the same time. That is the way I use it. The file system is NTFS which is also recognized by Mac. The use of FAT32 is not recommended and reformatting with Mac only will preclude using if with PCs.
