Love the Sonos "ecosystem." Easy set up and integration with the Play:1s I have in other rooms. I use the Sonos Controller app on my phone to merge all the speakers and can listen to music or audio books while moving around the house doing cleaning, laundry, whatever - when I don't want to be tied to one room. I used the Line-In port to connect the Play:5 to a TV for better sound, although this is not something Sonos uses as a selling point. Takes some adjusting of TV audio settings but then works well.

I prefer to use the shortest cable that will do, to avoid a jumble of tangled cables, so I have short cables. This one still qualifies as the shortest for its particular use, even though it is 2 meters (6.5 feet).

Wi-Fi is not so good in my house so when my ISP had a sale, I had them add Ethernet ports to some of the phone outlets (the house has CAT 5 wiring). With the 8 port Netgear switch, I am able to have wired Internet connections for the main Ethernet in and out to TV, Apple TV, Blu-ray player, Sonos Playbar, and an old computer to run a doggie cam - making for fast and reliable Internet connections. Netgear is easy to connect and good tech support is available by phone if you need it - just register your switch with them online.

I have the Playbar sitting on top of a 70" high armoire in my bedroom, with a 49" 4k Sony TV hanging on the wall above the armoire. There is no screen on the Playbar that I need to read, so it is good in this placement. The sound is great and it has so much "built in" besides the speakers. This is the only Sonos product I own but now I am thinking of adding more speakers in other locations (it is wi-fi, not bluetooth).

I downloaded the Sonos app (which you have to do to set it up - I use iPhone but it is also available for Android, I think). Set up is very quick and easy. Through the app, you have access to many many free radio services, and to sign in to services you pay for (like SiriusXM, and many music and talk services). I can also play the music I have on my iMac computer through the Playbar using the iPhone app to control it.

MY TV is on the wall above a 70" armoire, so the sound bar is on the armoire. At that height, I cannot see the display on the sound bar so I returned it.

I have this TV wall-mounted (slightly angled) above a 70" high armoire in my bedroom. Good viewing angle to watch while lying in bed. The TV looks good on the wall, and the picture is great. Sharp, good color.

The only thing I miss from my old TV is that this one does not show the volume level on screen.

Just recently purchase a Sony XBR49X800d. Trying to display the resolution being inputted into the TV (420p/1080p). Maybe my last question wasn't clear. When I hit display all I get is the HDMI source i.e. HDMI 4 (cable) and current time in display.

Someone else set mine up, and I could not find a way to change this with the remote, or instructions in the manual. I suggest you call Sony Support.

I bought the XBR55X930D model and it worked great for a month and then would not power on again after downloading the latest update. Tried replacing the transformer box but still would not power on. Anyone else have this problem?

Is the TV not still under warranty? Call Sony support.

can you tilt left or right with the supplied stand or is it fixed?

The stand is fixed. It does not tilt in any direction.

I really don't understand right/left tilt - you could angle the TV by sliding the left or right end of the stand more to the front and the other end more to the rear on the table so that the TV would face more left or right instead of straight ahead.

The stand will not allow the TV itself to tilt forward or back.

Yes, HDMI 3 is the ARC port.

The spec sheet says, TV only: 29.1 lb (13.2 kg), TV with stand: 31.3 lb (14.2 kg).

There are 3 answers to this question: the footprint of the stand in front of the TV is 21" (it angles in slightly); behind the TV, it is 22"; and the space inside the back "feet" is 20".

I do not use Bluetooth speakers, but the spec sheet for the Sony XBR-49X800D says, under Input/Output: "Bluetooth® (Ver4.1 HID/HOGP/3DSP/SPP)."
