audible alarm

can the audible alarm be silenced ?

Sure take the screws out and pull the rubber speaker off the board inside also take the battery out so you don't get shocked

Sure about 5 to 10 min I would go with the 1500

My old E650R UPS from APC had a Powerchute s/w package and online status

My original E650R from APC had a nice Powerchute software monitor which hooked in via the dataport... this new system mandates that no connection be made through the dataport (manufacturing only??). Is there any means of monitoring status from my laptop????

how do you TEST the unit to make sure that it works. I currently have a sump pump connected to it.

Unplug it from the wall turn it on and see if your pump works or use a volt meter

My land phone is now part of cable/internet plan and I need battery back up during power outage. I bought 350G and it says 15 minutes. Best unit for longer duration phone backup?

I use a 1500 on my uverse modem and my internet never goes out

If the power is out for just a couple minutes and then comes on again, will this be sufficient to hold?

Depends on how much you put on it I have satellite modems last 3 and four hours on these but I imagine if I hook my fridge to it wouldn't last more than 10 minutes which would be fine for the couple minutes your talking about

Every time an air conditioner, garbage disposal, etc turns on in my house, this thing beeps LOUD in my home office. How do I turn it off?

Sounds like you either got a bad unit or you have to much current draw on your home service. May be time to move some breakers around or get a bigger service put in

Yes it will keep your heat tape working for about 3 hours during a power outage
