What's great about it: Small, easily carried and stored, easy to use
What's not so great: name
The MyPassport is a 1 TB external HD that is not much larger than a deck of cards. It plugs into a USB port and automatically downloads its device handler. After that it is easy to plug it in and back up individual files or the whole system. I have a 500GB internal HD that is about half full, so I can back the whole thing up. It takes a while the first time, but after that it is just looking for new files. The small unit can be stored or carried easily. I try to keep it in a different place from the computer in case something happens,
This product has... Reliable, Attractive design/portable, Quiet, Large capacity/good size
About me... Budget Conscious, Need a simple backup solution
I would recommend this to a friend!

How can I transfer data from my old computer via passport to my new laptop?

Easy, just plug the passport into the old computer, drag the data files into the window that opens, then plug it in to the laptop and drag them out. As long as both devices have USB ports this is quick and simple.

Is it compatible with Chromebook OS?

Haven't tried, but if your Chromebook has a USB port it should work.

How can I transfer data from my old computer via passport to my new laptop?

This is easy. Just plug the device into a USB port on the old computer, drag the files you want to move into it (a window opens that you can drag in to), then plug it in to the laptop and reverse the process. It want work for programs like Office that resist transfer, but for data files it is quick and easy.
