What's great about it: Runs very quiet
What's not so great: Acer Cloud Appps
While using internet explorer, some web sites caused the explorer to crash. I would get the following error: "Aop Framework caused the internet to crash" I had to Contact Geek Squad to fix the problem. I was told by the tech that AOP Framework is an add on from acer. As of right now I have not had any further problems.

I bought this drive to use as a movie server because of it's large capacity.
I purchase the drive about a month ago. Brought it home and hooked it up to my windows 8 computer. When I tried to boot up my machine, the drive prevented it from initializing. I unplugged the drive and tried to boot up the computer again, it initialized with no problem. I plugged in the drive, now that the machine was running. The drive worked flawlessly, and I was able to store movies on it. Since I was not able to boot up my machine when the drive was connected I was upset, because the drive was plugged into the rear 3.0 Usb slot located on the rear of my desktop computer. This is a real problem because to start the computer again, I had to craw under my computer desk, and unplug it. I found this unacceptable, so I called customer service, and ask them why my computer would not boot up with the new drive attached. To make a long story short the technician said that the Usb cable is defective, and he would send me out a new one. I waited for the cable for about a week, when it came I plugged it into the computer, and tried booting it up. The technician was correct, the computer booted. Problem solved. I think that WD should test their cables before they ship them out, preventing this from happening,

What's great about it: Ability to view shows thru the internet.

A friend told me about this device, and how he is able to watch free movies and network shows thru the internet. I was looking for a solution to rid myself of a very expensive monthly cable TV bill. Another thing that upsets me is the inability to pick and choose what channels that we subscribe to, We have the digital starter package with Comcast which has around a hundred channels or more, and out of all these channels, we watch about ten of them. So why are we paying all this money every month, if we never use them. The cable company should allow you to pay for the channels Ala cart that you watch and not require you to pay extra for channels you don't watch. As of right now we are still evaluating the product, and have made no change in are cable subscription. I feel that this device or devices like this will eventually change the way we watch television. With Roku 3 there is allot of free channels with movies and network shows. There is also paid channels, like Netflix for movies, and some television shows, and Hulu Plus for shows that are available on the cable channels. I highly recommend the Roku 3, and I for see it getting better as time goes on. So maybe as time goes on we will be able to cut the cable. Roku 3 requires you to have high speed internet in order to view it's channels.
