I was trying to use this as a wireless AP only and when I tried to manually set it up in a work environment it was a pain to configure how I wanted it to be configured. It kept trying to use the "access from anywhere" software and I did not want to use that. It might have worked better if I just used the "easy" setup and answered the questions. I bought a newer Netgear wireless router and set it up with the "easy" setup and it worked great but I was not in a work environment. The speed is good and the range is fairly good as well. Overall 3.5 to 4.0 stars.

This drive failed only after 17 days of use. It was outside the return policy for Bestbuy but I was able to get it returned via RMA to WesternDigital. The new drive works so far. The replacement drive was sent fast and the money on hold on my CC was released quickly. I am an IT Specialist and have seen drives fail out of the box. It is bound to happen. It was easy for me to get it returned to WD and get a replacement with no issues.

Can the firmware be updated at home or does my internet provider have to do it?
At home. You will go the Linksys website, go to support, and type in the model number. Here is the link for the AC1200 EA6350 http://www.linksys.com/us/support-article?articleNum=148481. FYI The internet provider will update firmware on their equipment only and you will most likely have to contact them to do that.

If I have any trouble, either w/ the setup, have to replace it, or simply want to return it, would I be able to go back to my old Linksys I'm using currently (the WRT54G2 I think it is), w/o any issues? Would keeping the same password cause issues?
If you keep the same SSID and password you will have to delete the old "Known Wireless Network" and reconnect to the new or old wireless router. It might just prompt for the wireless password again but most the time you have to delete the Known Network and reconnect.

I have a late 27 inch iMac. I don't want open my iMac and install it internally. Do you guys think is fine to boot using USB 3 connector?
I don't even know if it would use USB as a primary boot source for an OS. If it did then you could do that but I would not recommend it. If the drive gets knocked off of something our dropped with it is running it could corrupt the whole OS. I would just get a professional to install the new drive and install/image the MAC OS on it. Can this be installed as a 2nd hard drive to increase speed of laptop?
First of all most laptops do not hold more than one hard drive. Second it would only speed up what was running from that SSD. So if your operating system was running on the old HDD and you were just using the second (SSD) for storage or small programs you would not see much speed increase at all. My suggestion is to reinstall / image Windows onto the new SSD and use it as the primary. Use an external hard drive for storage or if you can install 2 hard drives in your laptop then use the HDD for storage. Regards, Valsar.

Will this work for a desktop PC?
Yes it will but you will have to have a 2.5" mounting system for a hard drive so it will mount in the 3.5" slot or you might have a 2.5" slot available depending on how you case is designed. Some SSD drives come with mounting system for desktops but this particular one do not.

Will this work with my hp pavillion 360 13.3 ? . It has 500 gb hard drive its a core i3 .
Yes, this item will work with any laptop that uses a standard sized hard drive. The thing you will need to know is that you will have to image your old hard drive to the new one with the correct software or you will have to completely reinstall Windows on the new hard drive. If you have a copy of the operating system it makes if very easy to do that. If you don't know what I am talking about you might want to do some research before you give it a shot or seek some professional help.
