What's great about it: Reliable and has a keyboard.
What's not so great: Keyboard is sensitive to heat and moisture.
It's hard to find a good basic phone if you are not interested in connecting to the internet. This one does a great job and is easy to use for texting.

Will this unit cool an oddly shaped apartment?
My apartment has a living room which goes into a dining room with a kitchen to the side of the dining room. The entire space is approx. 35 ft X 15 ft. There are no doors or separation between the 3 spaces. The only window is in the kitchen and does not face towards the bulk of the space (dining area and living room). Will this unit be able to cool off the entire area?
Yes this will do the job. I use it for the entire downstairs of my farmhouse. It is in the window in the living room with a kitchen and dining room on the same floor and it's very comfortable. I also have a ceiling fan in the kitchen.

how far out do sides expand
how far out is this expandable our window is 42 inches wide
Yes this unit will fill a 42 inch wide window.

Can u plug the unit into a power strip?
You can but the answer is should you? It's not recommended to use a power strip for any ac unit, but if you have to, make sure it's one that is rated for heavy duty use.

where is the drip vent located?
I have an ac current in my apt window; however the drip vent is located too close to the window ledge and it drips on the ledge creating mildew on the ledge and down the side of the bldg. Therevre i ned toesure the drip vent is more towards the rear of the ac. Pls get back to meas soon as u cN
It should be fine. I only have about six inches of the unit inside the room, the rest is outside. I haven't seen any moisture inside.
