The Lifeproof - fre case is the slimmest design available that still has all the specs you want for safety: waterproof, droppable, thumbprint still works and screen protection. Lifeproof have an alternative case that has no screen protector however for peace of mind the fre is my choice.
My phone has been dropped off benches, thrown out of the car and dropped into spas with no damage or issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!

does it cover the finger print scanner on the i phone 5s?
No it doesn't. Scanner still works.

Lifeproof iphone 5 fix?

Hi, I was watching reviews on the lifeproof case and heard of problems. Then I heard that Lifeproof made a new gen on the case. The problems I heard of were the rainbow effect, the big gap between screen and plastic, and the sound issues. Are these fixed?
All of these issues are fixed. I have two IPhone 5S with life proof cases, that have fallen off benches, been dropped in spas, thrown etc. no issues with phone and no issues with case relating to your question.
