This is a very good smart watch for people who look at their phones a lot. Keeps you from having to dig the phone out of your pocket to look at a text to see if it is important.
I would recommend this to a friend!

is watch and cellphone proximity always necessary

On my regular bicycle ride of 2 hr duration can I leave the cell phone at home? Can I sync the watch and cell after coming home? Does the phone have enough memory to store heart rate data as well as GPS data ? On week ends the run could stretch to 4 hrs/100 kms. Would that be too much data?

If I could, I would rather leave the phone at home while on the bike?
The watch needs to have either a connection to the phone or to a wifi network to give GPS data, since it is not a connected device like the Samsung Gear S. If you were to leave the phone at home and go riding it would not give the GPS part of what you need. However, it would store the heart rate. The watch will automatically sync to the phone as you come in close enough proximity to it. There is no need to repair it or anything like that.

Can I use my bluetooth headphones and the watch with one phone?

I use my bluetooth headphones a lot but will the watch sync with my phone simultaneously?
Yes you can. Since the watch is connected to the phone through the Android wear app, it does not take over the bluetooth portion of your phone. I use it on my phone everyday and have no problems with connectivity issues. I can be on the bluetooth and the watch at the same time. I can even control the music or phone call with my watch.

Does it have MP3 player built in?

If by built in MP3 player you mean will it play through the watch, no. The Moto 360 does not have a speaker in it, therefore will not play through the watch. Just like phone calls will not be able to go through the watch. However, if you have a bluetooth connected to the phone, you can control the music with the watch and even store music on the watch without having the phone near you. It has a built in 4gb of storage to where if you have a bluetooth connected to the watch it will play through the bluetooth speaker or headphones that is connected to the watch.

Battery Replacement

Is the battery replaceable? If so, is this covered by the Best Buy protection plan? Thanks.
No, the battery is not removable by the Geek Squad agents in store. However, if you get the Geek Squad Protection on the watch they will replace the device if it is having a battery issue. There are a few stipulations but generally if it is having an issue they will replace it under the Geek Squad Protection Plan. You will have to repurchase the plan after they replace it.
