This tv only has 2 hdmi outputs, how can I connect my cable, DVD player and netflix to it?
If you go ahead and upgrade to a blu ray player you can still play DVDs on it and have Internet acess for Netflix.

How does standard definition look on this TV? Are the people all short and fat or can it be adjusted well?
It can defiantly be adjusted.
