What's great about it: Ergonomically comfortable for medium size hand
What's not so great: Nothing that I've found to date
Switched to this after breaking my "brand name" mouse which was still fairly new. Decided to go with the cheaper Dynex model due to my inability to look after wireless mice evidently - very happy so far. It connected super fast first time, is responsive, accurate, comfortable and the wireless receiver is tiny and can be left in my laptop all the time. Middle roll button very useful and accurate also.
Battery is AAA which actually makes it lighter than one with an AA battery - I did not find the AAA to be an inconvenience.
Emits red laser light from bottom, works fine on most any surface I've put it on but is better on ones that are not super shiny.
I would recommend this to a friend!

range.?

I'm trying to find a mouse with a range of at least 6 to 10 feet.. Does this mouse have a long range.? It doesn't say..
Line of sight, mine works from 18ft away without difficulty. I use mine for business and it will work for a presentation using a projector for example without any trouble.

DX-WLM1401-BK Connection?

I am having trouble setting up the connection between the mouse and the receiver. How long do I need to hold down the "Connect" button?
Mine set up right from the get go. If a Windows 7 machine, it will go to the web to download a driver if needed after you insert the USB connection. I put mine in a non-SS (standard) USB port and it worked great. Not sure about the process in Windows 8, if that is what you have.

With the USB connection inserted, the connect button should only be needed to reset it and reconnect it. A few seconds is all that is needed.
