Connect up to 4 devices to the coaxial connection from your cable or indoor/outdoor VHF/UHF/FM antenna with this mini drop amplifier. It works with the DC power provided by components, or with the AC power provided by the included adapter.

Connecting a cable router

Most suggestions seem to instruct you to split off the cable router from where the caber enters the house with a two slitter before you add additional spliter. In fact that was my set up, I had a spliter with 3db going to my router and 7db going to a four way spliter. I was getting error from FIOS TV that it was not getting data input. I move my router to one of the RF-G1179 outputs. It seems to be working. On another output, I had one of two TIVOs connected. I seemed to have been getting too much signal, so I moved that connection to a 7db connected behind the RFG1179, and that seems to be working, Comments?
Anytime there is a spitter involved the signal strength is divided. Take into consideration what you're trying to achieve best to draw out on paper (so you can remember the configuration) then connect and check Signal strength.
As far as too strong of a signal for your device no such thing.

Please help me! Is this what I need?

So I'm on an alienware 14 laptop, and it only has a HDMI port. I just bought a BenQ xl2411z monitor so I could run 120 hz. Turns out through HDMI you can only go as high as 60 hz. I did some research and purchased a high speed hdmi cable, it said I would be possible to run up to 600hz (or whatever your monitor went up to, as long as it wasn't higher then 600hz. So I tried it, I could run 120hz BUT in a low resolution (not even hd, it was 1024,768). I want a minimum of 1280x720 with anything higher then 60hz. If I use this chord to connect to my laptop, will I be able to run 120hz?
Please help me!
Go ahead and purchase a new Monitor, you going to in the near future anyway.
Use your old monitor on the device it was connected to in the past and move forward, The new monitors are very reasonable in price now days

6' cord

Does this adapter really have a 6 foot cord? That would definitely sway me to buy this product over similar ones.

Does not come with a 6 foot cord, pigtail only
