This is a good bang for your buck. Lots of room. The only issues is where the laptop goes is small.

Is this a mini or regular sized mouse? I want to use it with a desktop not a laptop.

I would say it's about 75% the size of the old school desktop mouse. I know a couple of people who are using it as a desktop mouse.
