I run a Tivo DVR and 4 Tivo Minis on a MoCA network. I really need widespread, reliable wifi coverage. This along with the Netgear Nighthawk AC 1900 router mostly fulfills these requirements. On occasion one of the minis stutters the signal a little but mostly all run smoothly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

ARRIS - SURFboard eXtreme N300 Dual-Band Router with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Black
ARRIS - SURFboard eXtreme N300 Dual-Band Router with DOCSIS 3.0 Cable Modem - Black
This ARRIS SURFboard cable modem uses DOCSIS 3.0 technology to ensure speed that lets you surf the Web and download videos, music and images with ease. The integrated wireless network (802.11n) is backward compatible with 802.11b/g access points

Told to upgrade modem with Cox.

Do I need to or should I purchase a modem/router unit or just the new 3.0 modem and continue to use my current router?
Thanks
I think a superior router is just as important if not more so than a good modem.

Is the Motorola SURFboard Model SB6141 MoCA enabled?

Trying to establish a MoCA network with my new Tivo Roamio Pro, but it appears I might need a MoCA-enabled Cable Modem, This model came up in my MoCA search on Best Buy, but can't find the spec that says it's MoCA-enabled. Thanks,
No, you just need to buy a Coaxial to MoCA adapter for less than $30 and install it between where the cable comes into your wall and the Motorola Surfboard modem. I have a MoCA network with a TiVO DVR and 4 Minis and it is working great with the Adapter. Make sure you have a MoCA "enabled" coaxial cable splitter coming to the house along with the suggested MoCA filter. If you have any other splitters in your house, make sure they are MoCA appropriate as well.
