This washer is able to take my king size quilt without any problems. It handles small loads well too! Quiet as a mouse. Except for the king quilt, I'm careful to not load more than half way up the bin to protect the washer from too much wear and improve its longevity. Very quiet compared to my old Whirlpool front loader. Both of my front loaders (1999 and 2005) had a longevity of only 5-6 years. I'm hoping that this top loader lasts many years more, for a much lower initial cost.

I would recommend this to a friend!

front load washer leaks from the soap tray

I washed a load of clothes the other day and when the machine got to the (I think the spin cycle) water was leaking out of the soap tray, down the front of the machine. I checked to see if there was some blockage in the slot but found nothing. What could be the trouble. My machine is a whirlpool energy star Model #WFW905XW00, Serial #HL05059610, Type 832A

Have you been using a HE detergent in the recommended quantity? My machine is only a month old and it is the first time that I have used an energy efficient top loader. I've noticed that with my black clothes loads I occasionally get some light white spots on my clothes. I use the recommended quantity of detergent and try to maximize the amount of water used with the black loads to prevent this problem. The only other thing that I am going to try is decreasing the amount of detergent I use per load (it will be below what is recommended by whirlpool and the detergent manufacturer).
