I read quite a few reviews of people having issues with the lock not responding in a timely manner, this has not been my experience. I did go through the manual calibration process though. I have been very pleased with the lock both in recognizing my phone. I have had it lock the bolt when I didn't want to occasionally but only because I touched the lock unintentionally. As this was something I never had to think about before, I will just have to be more aware. Overall I am glad I purchased despite some of the reviews I read. I am overall, very happy with the purchase. I will be upgrading to the online service soon.

Does this only allows you to have 2 smart phones ekeys set up on a regular basis? We have 7 people that access our home on a regular daily basis, can we not have 7 smartphones ekeys or more set up on a regular basis?
You can have more than two. Only two come with it for free. You have to purchase more.

Is this a double deadbolt, meaning is it a key on the outside AND the inside of the door, or is the inside a turn knob?
It is a double deadbolt. Key hole on outside, deadbolt on inside.

Does the phone App keep a log of when the door was unlocked and can you set it up to send you push notifications when the door is unlocked in real time?
yes, it keeps a log of which E key opened and closed the door with date and time.

eKeys
If somebody comes to visit me from out of town, can I issue eKeys to them or do they have to have the actual fab?
you can, but they have to have the Kevo App I believe. You only get two E-keys when you purchase and without upgrading to the plus program, you have to pay a few bucks for any other E-keys. I think that you can issue temp keys for 24 hours but if you go to their website I know all the information is there.

Does this product also contain actual keys in case of malfunction of some sort?
yes, it comes with the following "keys"
2 Electronic keys (my wife and I both can open the door using our iphones)
2 metal keys (if you buy other SMART kwikset locks you can key them all the same)
1 plastic Bluetooth FOB (this is for your keychain and works similar to the iphone with touch)

What generation is this and How do I tell the difference in the two generations?
this is gen 1. I spoke with manufacturer August 2016 and they said gen 2 was not available for purchase yet but should be coming out sometime later this year.
