After having used solid state drives in all of my computers the last few years I simply REFUSE to use anything else. The speed and performance difference is immediately discernible and the slight cost difference between a solid state drive and standard spinning drive make this upgrade a no-brainer to anyone using a computer.

If you're still using a spinning drive instead of solid state, you're REALLY in the past. The difference is NIGHT and DAY and this is the BEST upgrade bang for your buck on ANY computer!

I needed this cable for a monitor after mistakenly thinking it had an HDMI port. Fortunately I found a Display Port to Display Port cable at Best Buy and was able to get my client's monitor working with his docking station!

Storage prices have come way down recently and Seagate's products are second to none in quality and craftmanship. I have a 2TB and 4TB plus a SSD in my rig and the Seagate spinning disks are rock solid.

This device punched through some hefty walls with metal studs where an old Linksys router fell very short. Getting a good stable 3 bar connection where we had little to none before. Highly recommended if you're having coverage issues.

The upgrade of replacing a spinning drive with a solid state drive is definitely a mega performance enhancer. This process is easy with many third party tools to clone your existing drive on to the new solid state drive, even if it's a smaller capacity. The gain in speed is monumental!

It is SATA2 (3Gbps). SATA3 is 6Gbps.

What type of partition table does this drive have,windows 7 install says it needs a GPT?

Seagate 1TB internal ata drive,m/n st310005n1a1as-rk.
GPT is typically for drives over 4TB. You can create a FAT32, NTFS or GPT partition on this drive without issue. I'd recommend NTFS but that's just personal preference.

Spin Speed?

What's the Speed, 5400 or 7200?

Doesn't say in the description...

Anyone know why the 2TB version gets 6Gbps transfer speeds and these list 3Gbps?
The drive is 7200 rpm and it's a SATA2 drive, not a SATA3. SATA2 transfer speeds are the 3Gbps and SATA3 are 6Gbps. Some older systems do not have SATA3 ports, and will automatically transfer data at 3Gbps even to a SATA3 drive.

As the HP Pavilion brand has been around for quite a while (Since the Windows 95 days) we'd need a more specific model, but if it was purchased in the last 10 years or so the answer is most likely yes!

Is this Win 7 64bit compatible

Yes. All large SATA hard disk drives are compatible with 64 bit operating systems. Drive size limits are normally limited by the file system (FAT32 for example has a 2TB size limit, NTFS is 16TB I believe. Either way you're covered in Windows 7!
