No fan no noise, very light weight. Since it can't sustain turbo boost for long there wasn't really much point in getting a more expensive m5 or m7. I got a m3 and it's great for daily things. I have my other machine for heavy tasks.

I have a rMBP13 from late 2013, and was hesitant using iOS due to lack of file management system. Well, I finally tried this since it was so cheap ($40 after all the leg work) and now I'm sticking with this while my Galaxy S7 Edge is sleeping in the drawer. It works surprisingly well, but I do wish Apple still adds file management system so it's easier to use. It works very well along with a MAC too. I would probably get another if Apple releases a iPhone SE 2 or something.

I bought this solely as a toy or for side project, so I can't comment on call quality or anything like that. Besides, I'm a AT&T customer and this phone doesn't take GSM SIM.
I know the build quality is fine, and the price was so cheap. It's not even a 720p screen, but it still looks nice. Feels much faster than Samsung Galaxy Rush which was in the similar price bracket, but with inferior hardware (single core, even lower resolution screen). Responsive. I installed Nokia Here Maps (offline maps) and that seems to work well. This is just in case I use this as a dedicated GPS for my car. It's a dual core so it's not that laggy.

Must I activate phone when I pick it up?
I plan to purchase 2 of these as Christmas gifts. I was told that Best Buy typically insists on activating smart phones when they are picked up. If this is the case, I will purchase elsewhere.
No, you don't have to activate it. Unless it say so in the ad, or it's a contract phone, you don't have to activate it. I never activated mine, and I get the nag screen once in a while.
