I got the FreedomPop free service previously for an old work phone. It worked great for what I needed it for. I didn't know about this 12 month prepaid plan otherwise I would have tried it out.
So when it came time for me to pick up a cell phone + plan for my dad, I jumped on this. I've paired up this plan with a Moto G5S Plus. An affordable unlocked phone with 64 GB of storage and 4 GB of RAM. The phone itself is quite responsive, and I figure will keep him running for a while as apps demand more resources.
FreedomPop is served by AT&T in my area and it's been great. I went into the settings to make sure to notify my dad when he approaches 900 MB and turn off data as it gets closer to 1 GB. It's enough to get his emails and run some apps. He's not going to be streaming any content and if he is, he can do it over wifi when he's home.
I was however, slightly frustrated with the setup process. The setup is all done online, which isn't a problem. The problem was finding an available phone number to choose from. I searched all the area codes near me and across the states of Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Wisconsin. None were available at the time, so I ended up with a phone number in Nevada. I'm sure I can change it later, but it was a frustrating part of the experience. I believe over time that FreedomPop purchases blocks of phone numbers as they become available, but at the time I couldn't find one easily.
If this is still around when my kids need phones, I'll likely turn to this plan.

I've paired up this phone with FreedomPop 12 month prepaid service. It's utilizing the AT&T network and it works great. The phone itself is quite responsive, the camera is great. I considered the Moto G6, but I really wanted to get the 64 GB version with 4 GB of RAM and as of now the G6 Plus isn't available.
This phone is going to my dad who doesn't need a lot of cellular data and while I briefly considered the free service from FreedomPop, The 12 month prepaid for $50 was easy to justify.
The Moto G5S Plus is probably overkill for my dad's use, but I believe that the processor and memory capabilities will keep him running for a while as apps demand more resources.

I enjoyed the concept of the movie, an albeit short battle between Batman and Superman before they teamed up to defeat their common enemy. But I felt there was no build up of some of the characters. You get a glimpses of other DC comics characters, but there is very little else. I was also put off by some of the glimpses into the future. The movie just didn't tie it all together nicely. I really like how Marvel is building their cinematic universe as well as trying to tie in their TV series wherever they can, but I think DC is playing catch-up and trying to build their cinematic universe too quickly. I'm hoping the next DC films help to tie all the glimpses together.

I enjoyed this movie. Marvel Studios may stumble once in a while, but I like the way they've built their Cinematic Universe and try to tie in their TV series where they can. I like the character development (new and old) throughout the film and the action sequences blend the right amount of action, drama and a touch of comedy. I'm really looking forward to the next few movies.

Needed an external drive since many laptops don't come with optical drives. I was looking at several external DVD burners, but to get a blu-ray burner for not much more made the decision easy. I picked up this tablet for my 6 year old. I had debated whether or not to get the basic Fire tablet or to get the Fire Tablet Kids edition. I am glad I went with the Kids edition. It comes with the foam bumper which is probably $15 itself and a 2 year warranty for and bumps or spills but FreeTime gives me peace of mind for my child. I wasn't familiar with FreeTime before, but I appreciate what it does. At first, there are pre-selected Books, Apps, Videos. These are all free. If there other games that you want to allow, you can flip to the adult account, pull down the game to the adult account then go to the settings and provide permission for your child's account to use it. However, there are some annoyances: 1. When the child account wants to use the app, for the first time, it has to download and install on the child's account, it's not automatically installing the app from the adult account. 2. The child's home screen or carousel only displays 20 or so items, so if your child has downloaded several books, only the last 20 or so will show up on the home screen, you need to go back to the Books section and select a target book before it gets added back to the carousel. More specific to the tablet itself, the battery Life is rather short. and button placement relative to charging port is a little awkward. Don't get me wrong, it's a speedy little tablet for the money and its performance has outweighed the annoyances. Once the free year of FreeTime is up, I will be sad, but I still have a capable Fire Tablet.

I was looking for an inexpensive phone for my wife. It was either this one or a Moto E. While the Moto E was cheaper, this Samsung Galaxy Core Prime has a replaceable battery. Plus the Samsung interface was a little more familiar since other family members have Samsung devices. I will mention that the screen is not as smooth as more expensive phones. And it only runs Android 4.4. But for our purposes, it works just fine.

I recently bought a set of headphones. Once I received them I realized the included cord was rather short. This audio extension cable was a little hard to find in the store. Lots of answers to my original question but need some details:
Is this correct: Connect desktop to router; router to cable modem; cable modem to cable coax?
Will wireless laptop automatically be able to access internet when I power it up?

First Question: That configuration is correct.
Second Question: As long as your laptop is correctly configured to connect to the wireless network on the router, when it has completed powering up, it will connect wirelessly to the internet. Depending on how fast your computer is, you may have to wait 1-2 minutes between when your computer gets into Windows and when wireless is available.
Third Question: Most Wireless-N routers have a guest network feature. With Guest Network feature enabled, you can uncheck the option to "Allow guest to access My Local Network".
