att modem

I currently have an att dsl modem and a Linksys e1000 router. If I purchase this N600 can I do away with the att dsl modem and just use this product? If so how hard is it to install ie: getting rid of att modem?
I replaced my att dsl modem and router with the Netgear N600. Very easy to follow setup instructions. Works great!
