Store edited photos, videos, and games on this 3.5-inch Western Digital hard drive. It has dynamic cache for optimizing allocation between reads and writes, and there's plenty of space to store files with its 4TB capacity.

I always stand behind WD. Their drives have last long for me. However, these "Everyday Drives" are clocked at the slower 5400RPM versus what a typical desktop drive should be... 72000 RPM. Yes, they are doing this to be more "green" and to cut costs but.... all desktop drives should run at 72000 or higher. This isn't a big deal if you use an SSD as your OS boot drive which I do (why would you not these days?) and this drive as a slave for data. If you use it for your boot drive, you'll notice a lack in performance.

I mostly go with PNY flash drives because they have been around for a long time and I've been using them for over 15 years now with no problems. I still have older ones from over 5 years ago and they still work with no issues.

Having bought one already for my laptop a while back, I bought one for a friend's desktop because it was acting pretty slow. The title says 1 PC.. I've purchased previously and the code works for 3.... Is this only good for one or for 3 as well?
Microsoft Office Home and Student 2010 Family Pack was licensed for up to 3 PCs. After that version, MS changed the licensing for only 1 PC. If you want to use Office for more than one PC, you must buy additional licenses or do what MS wants you to do, subscribe to Office 365.

I can install Windows 7 or higher OS and make this a bootable drive, right?
You sure can! You can even install Linux on the drive. As soon as you install an OS on the drive, that drive will become bootable and boot... into the OS.

What is the difference between SATA Hard Drive and ATA Hard Drive? Is one better than the other?
A SATA hard drive is the current standard for computers which replaced the older and slower (P)ATA interface. SATA is Serial ATA and PATA is Parallel ATA. The current SATA is faster and uses a much thinner cable from the drive to the motherboard. If you look at the picture, the wider black cable is (P)ATA hooked up to the DVD drive and the thin red cable is SATA hooked up to the hard drive.
