Very good cable quality. You don't have to struggle with it to get it to lay down flat. It tucked in along base board and carpet to hide and it didn't tangle during the process.

I have used a Logitech Trackball since 1999 and it's the best way I have found to avoid running out of mouse pad space. It just sits in one place use your thumb to move pointer precisely and quickly. Great range on the wireless model.

Avoid sparking during electronic repairs with this Insignia antistatic wristband. Its conductive carbon lining provides protective insulation, and it adjusts to fit any size wrist.
 

What do I do with it? It came with no directions. Help us dumb people please!

The anti static wrist strap is normally wrapped around your wrist . Attach the snap on the wire to the wrist strap if its removable, the alligator clip end goes to a good metal ground like the computer cabinet or a grounded work mat if you are working on laptops. The idea is that you discharge static electricity from moving around in a controlled fashion. My tip is: if you don't know what a good metal ground is do not work on your computer.

is it optical?

Yes its all internal infrared not visual light. the light reflects off of the surface of the trackball. It's very responsive the ball is the only moving part. it pops out easily to clean out dust inside.
